Hey!
My fiancè got put in a new truck today - and we can't seem to disconnect from the trailer! Thank goodness walmart is unloading us without disconnecting, but.. we will have to get rid of this trailer tomorrow for hometime! We have pulled the release valve from inside the cab. We have tried pulling the manual release lever by the kingpin, it won't even budge!
We have to rescue a load from someone in the past who had this problem... we have been trying for an hour!
Anyone have this problem?! What do we do?!
KW T660 cnt release kingpin lock jaws!

Set the trailer brakes Then lean the truck into the trailer and set the truck brakes. Then you should be able to release it.
-
Ste the trailer brake, back up an inch to take the pressure of the kingpin then try the release lever. Make sure the trailer isn't too low or too high.

exstreme case ive seen many times useing a pry bar and ply jaws open .from under the trailer.

Dxxx. . . Did that way back and my shoulders hurt for a week. Setting the brakes did the trick for me then, but i had to lean both ways a couple times. Then it was like butter, but it came back if the ground was uneven or if I had popped the red button and the trailer would push toward the truck before I could pull the jaws open.
Now what's this about releasing the jaws from inside the cab? In a KW? Never had that option myself. -
As the members have said, be sure trailer isnt pulling on 5th wheel. Like they said, set trailer brakes then, gently back tractor into kingpin. It should release?
Far shot here, but fifth wheel may be adjusted up alittle to tight?
Let us know what you found, best wishes...

Yeah - there is one of those knobs just like in our Cascadia to release the trailer from inside the trailer -
We tried everything ... we tried backing back into it - he finally went to someone that had a KW and asked for help. The man came and yanked on the release lever a few times and it released... we are thinking it might of been frozen.. becuz like I said - we just got this truck we picked it up in WI in tons of snow!
