Don't think any school will take you without having some kind of income coming in.Try a trucking company. Many do have a program to obtain your CDL.But of course there are strings attached. You have to sign a yr contract.
mje Thanks this. -
I was in your situation back in 2007 I went to stevens transport in dallas tx cost me 5000.00 give them a try

google the workforce investment act. They put me through school when I was laid off from my last job.

Try Prime flatbed. Ohio is a good freight lane for flatbed freight. You can apply online. They even buy your bus ticket to get to their training.

when i first got laid off i went to school for LPN but i am 46 yrs old and been out of school. WOW that was eye opening. but i want a new start. i am divorced lost my house, and ready have nothing holding me here. so i thought of driving before but was working and didn't want to leave it. well now everything has ran out and still no job so i going to drive! that is the one thing i really enjoy. but i just need to figure out how to finance it..

A community college might be an option. I have seen their training trucks out in rural parts of the country.
