Just had a conference call and another driver asked about toll roads and it was stated there are some toll roads that Schneider does not want you using. Any input on that from current Schneideret's![]()

Indiana and Ohio and one in Florida, I believe. They prefer you to run US 30 across IN & OH rather than the toll road. You're supposed to be ok to run them if you're under hazmat or high value loads. And your dbl may ok it if it involves a pickup or delivery issue. All other toll roads either fall under expass or will be reimbursed.
-
there are some like mentioned above that you can run but will have the cost taken out of your check. There is also one in Virginia and a few others. ezpass will take care of them but like I said YOU will pay eventually. Ohio and Indiana are relatively cheap as far as that goes. US30 in Ohio is 90% highway anyway but truck limit is 55. US30 in Indiana has 5-6 towns that will slow you down and some other random lights that can stop you.

US30 adds like 30 miles or so running across IN and OH. Doesn't seen like it would be that small. The tolls equal about 200 miles.
-
depends on where from. entire length of Indiana I-80 cost 18 and change. Ohio is around 35 or so.

I know some tollroads maybe loaded with a lot of traffic, but they do not have the small town traffic to deal with and the red lights, cars hopping out in front of you at the last moment. I think all companies should be required to let their drivers drive the interstate routes and be done with it. Just think of how much fuel is spent in stop and go traffic.

Doubtful they are allowed to run 407 toll road in Toronto ontario, crazy expensive, and not many trucks will use it.

I personally like US30. It can be some what of a pain in Indiana but once you get past Plymouth it's clear to Fort Wayne. Then you just go around Fort Wayne and you're clear on what is essentially interstate all the way across Ohio.
I've had time where I managed to hit most of the green lights crossing Indiana. Even slowing down to 45 in the cities if you get lucky and can hit mostly green lights it's not a bad drive. -
Thanks for the info. Are the training engineers company or owner operators and does anyone know the added perks and pay they receive ? Do they run in a team setup or is the trainer always in the passenger seat. How long before you can become one ? Do they get the nicer trucks ? thanks
