Breakfast with Anna (Musicgal) and her beau Don this morning in Laredo. Great time. Any excuse for pancakes is my motto.

This is not how trucking usually works. Not only can Peterbilt in Romulus get me in today, they actually have the part in stock. Time to buy a lotto ticket.

wulfman75 and Jarhed1964 Thank this. -
Now it looks like half of the company trucks. I have know idea why they don't have the air bag dump switch on all the trucks, it sure makes life a lot easier. The last company I worked for had everyone trained to leave the landing gear about an inch off the ground and then dump the air when dropping, that way the next guy didn't have to crank crazy when hooking up.
At least you put the gear down, I watched a friend in a hurry once forget and drop it all the way down. -
I just don't get it. 62 degrees tonight at 11:00 PM in Laredo with a nice breeze blowing and all these lease trucks (you know, the ones always complaining they cannot make a living) are sitting here idling all night long. That is about $30 a night for fuel. Then they will post on the USX Facebook page screaming for help when they breakdown and do not have the money for a hotel room. Crazy.

Yeah, I saw a Swift Driver pull out of her parking spot at a Flying J one morning and drop the trailer right there in the parking lot. I suspect some jerk pulled her kingpin release in the middle of the night.

How's my day you ask? Seems to have turned really bad, actually weeks! I thought maybe I could ask some more experienced USX drivers......when we first started we ran like crazy...6000+ miles per week. But since we came back from our Christmas break, we have averaged 1200 miles a week doing nothing but solo runs (we are a team with our hazmat) , and our biggest team run was the only 1200 miles we got in one week. Is freight that slow? Every time I ask someone out there in driver tech land(always seem to get a different person) they say there is no freight. I've done everything I've been asked, got all loads on time. I am just frustrated and confused and trying to find out if this is normal this time of the year. I realize that it is slow this time of year but this slow?
