Nevermind...I talked to some jerk there for 30 seconds. The only reachable human there apparently. I stated the job I am inquiring about, he determined that I could not start immediately, and hung up on me!
I bet they are just great folks to work for. Maybe the guys just like DCS because they used to run OTR for JB
LTL/Freight Jobs in Southern Vermont? Any advice is much appreciated.

Grain hauler in NW VT for JB is probably a DCS contract to Cargill Nutrena Feeds. There's one in Swanton that I know of. You'd do better applying to Poulin or someone similar I would think.

So about the LTL companies - is it appropriate to call the terminal and ask if they need a driver? I think they are all probably small terminals in VT so, good luck, right?

yep, thats the normal way. being timid is not the way to get a good job in this industry. its better to go in person though, as it shows you care enough to drive to the place, and they can get a look at you before hand as well. a lot of smaller companies are paper app only still, so this would be the only way to get one.

Good deal. I was hoping to get something in the works before I move out there, but sounds like probably not the best plan.
I will definitely stop by in person. I was just wondering if I they would think I was a nuisance for calling first, or if I should just show up out of the blue. I know this sounds stupid but it's all about first impressions.
