There was a guy contracted to keep the guard rails maintenance. He was caught using damaged guard rails and charging the state for new ones. He also was caught not sinking the metal posts in deep enough. The state cancelled his contract & the last I heard of it he was suing the state for cancelling his contract.
One of my new trucks failed a Level 2 today,

WELL, had another truck fail yesterday, Trooper commented on how nice the rig was and how neat the logs were, this is my newest combo 120,000 on the truck, and the trailer is brand new, ONE WEEK OLD.
The problem? the ABS lite on the side of the trailer "flickered instead of being on full bright" when the truck was started???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
aiwiron Thanks this. -
^^^WTF???? What state?
-
Of all places Wy, coming down outta Mt. in the middle of nowhere. Driver did tell me that the ABS lite on the dash did blink on once or twice yesterday while on the road, and he unplugged and re plugged both ends of the cord thinking it was probably just a bad connection.
Said it seemed to be working after that, but I guess at the time of the insp. when he started the truck and the lite is suppose to come on for a second and then go out it never came on all the way?
So, no sticker for that truck. I will get it looked at at soon as we get south a bit into warmer weather, that trailer is caked with snow and ice at the moment.
If it didn't work when isp. then it didn't work, but this stuff is getting pretty petty.truckon and NavigatorWife Thank this. -
Dont say that too loud. Gonna give MNDOT another idea.truckon, NavigatorWife and Roadmedic Thank this.

Yeah, I could see them doing it.truckon, NavigatorWife and HwyPrsnr Thank this. -
Check that the center prong in the trailer nose plug is spread out nd making good intact. The prongs easily get smushed together . And could have been that way from day one. Just a simple , but easily over looked item . Sounds like the issue , coming and going like that. -
I agree that it is something stupid like that, I'm just getting tired of "stupid stuff"!
-
It's getting popped because of small stuff really hurts. Heck I check every thing . Got pulled in at scale for inspection , trooper tells me to pull to the side for inspection . Takes him a few min to get out there. I do a walk round , find head light blown. Have 2 spares , so replace it. Lowering hood back down when he walks up. Tells me he saw the light out and writes it up. But it's working when he starts his inspection! Makes no difference . Tell me it's not about money. Know it hurts.
tsavory, SheepDog, MackDaddyMark and 1 other person Thank this.
