They teach you to double clutch in school (and supposedly this is one of the BEST schools around) so is it wrong to do that?

No, double clutching is what one should do when shifting. However most, because of convienience (and lazyness, I admit it) just float gears when shifting.

Thank you. Nice to know Mike's doing it as he should be :) I've only ever driven cars so wasn't 100% sure about this one!!

For the most part I float the gears, helps when loaded. I use the motion the petroleum to up shift. Most of the time double clutch when down shifting.

I usually float until I miss a gear. Then I'll use the clutch to get into the gear I want and continue floating. I don't double clutch though.

whats the point. The engines today have enough power there is really no need to double clutch.

I would like to see any driving instructor show me how to double clutch an 18 spd. I can't imagine them letting you skip gears so that would mean hitting every gear. The only time my clutch pedal gets used is when I take off

I only double clutch when I need too, which isn't very often.

They do it - and they hit every gear.
