Got my very first ticket ever in my life, and its a #### speeding ticket! :( I had 45000 on my trailer going down a huge hill. At the top of the hill the speed limit droped from 55 to 40 and jakes aren't allowed. This hill is one of those that you go down and immediately have to climb another, I dropped my speed to 30 and rode the hill to the bottom, I intentionally let my speed surpass 40 just abit so i could have some momentum for the incline. Then BAM out of no where i got pulled for 52 in a 40, the cop didnt care at all about my weight and the hill and hit me with a $250 ticket.

I hit 1 year exp a few months ago and currently looking to switch companies, how much will this hurt me?

Hey-How are you?I'd think not much. Most companies have a two or three ticket rule.Try to fight it.See if you can get it reduced or modified.Hopefully it works for the best.Take care.Brian

I would get your first ever traffic lawyer and try and fight it...chances are it would at least get reduced. Lawyer would probably cost $150 +/-. Sorry about your luck!

It wont matter if you fight thios or not with the CSA it will be on your record anyways, but 1 ticket shouldnt hurt you to bad just be up front about it I think you will be fine.

Not necessarily if its a local or county cop. Not all agencies report to or cooperate with FMCSA.

12 mph over the limit is no joke, especially in a big rig and in a speed zone, you need to be more careful.

yes...the rule is NEVER plead guilty. 99.9% of the time the assistant da will offer a reduction in order to keep it out of court. for truck drivers this is harder, as you have to either get a lawyer to do it for you or show up in east bumble****,wisconsin 1200 miles from home at 9am on sept 9th. big fat pain to do it yourself if you are otr. but pleading not guilty will almost definitely get it reduced...they just want the money.

Fight it man. Believe it or not, i been in three light fender wrecks, all three times i showed up in court, traffic police dint showed up and it was dismissed all three times. First two were not my fault, third one was with a train backing slowly hidden by trees and brush in a private rail road and i missed the stop and they dint have any warning of a moving train. No points in my CDL in all three cases. If i would'off plead guilty, i probably would be banned from driving a semi.

I remember when Barney used to do that at the big hill outside of Mayberry and Andy made him stop! Where's Andy when you need him?
