I cook almost all of my meals on the road in the truck. I have a 2500 watt inverter and I can run a nice microwave and a fridge with a mini freezer off of it along with my other living essentials. I went to Sears and bought a small fridge for $99 that is not made for trucks but works great. You do have to bungie the door shut though because it doesn't latch and will swing open while you drive. total cost of fridge and microwave was $179.(not counting the price of the inverter)

We used a GF, but husband put screws on the front part and a piece of wood about an inch in heighth helped to level it out flatter. I used the really lean hamburger 92/8 on it for burgers so it wasn't dripping juice as much. Also with it more level it was easier to make vegetables with juice so they weren't so dry. Chicken breasts, pork tenderloin cut into medallions, steak, etc. Used cleaner, paper towels and some water to rinse.
Made fried eggs for egg sandwiches, makings for burrito wraps.
The only thing was, I did the cooking while we were waiting at shippers, recvrs, 34's, coming off a 10.
I think a small square frying pan would be just as handy if not less messy in the long run, we used what we already had.
So a lot of it is based on how handy he is cooking and how much time he has to invest in it daily. A quick meal was the egg sandwich with the precooked bacon heated and a slice of cheese or peanut buter and jelly, which could be eatin going down the road even.
What was really good was if we could hit up a roadside vegatable market in the summer, that was like heaven. -
I use the exact same thing. Awesome device.

Correct. You only need to placard hazmat loads of which one category exceeds 1001lbs.

NO Propane in a truck! I have seen many grease fires in trucks, then you've have bomb waiting to go off! Please for your safety and others leave the propane out the truck!

if the compony finds out you are useing a stove in the truck you wont be with them long lol forreal its not safe

While I have no data to support it, I suspect that there are more truck fires from electrical malfunctions like inverters shorting out, than butane or propane stoves. The fuel for grease fire is grease, not a fuel-gas and says more about the personal habits of the cook than the danger of the fuel.chopper103in and Diletantte Driver Thank this.

I have propane stove in my motor-home, so all most every other RV. Forklifts use propane inside buildings because it burns clean. And Freightlinerbob nailed it "The fuel for grease fire is grease, not a fuel-gas and says more about the personal habits of the cook than the danger of the fuel.'"

i do see the point of both sides on the propane stove idea. unfortunately the dot states that it is illegal to have an open flame burning stove of any kind on the truck.
