Maybe someone will cut & paste your comments to an email and send to Crete, without them knowing who you are. That trainer probably has had problems in the past.

I know someone that was trained and drove for crete a couple years. She tells me company very family orientated and loved it. Made a good income as well. Like some of the posts above, I believe this trainer needs to be reported and your husband needs a new one. As a trainer at times myself, the last thing I want is my trainee not focused on the task at hand, learning. Instead thinking about how things are going at home, mental distraction. As a wife to a new born trucker I give this advice, Quality time spent together will always trump quantity.

Actually that's not a bad idea, I think I'm going to email someone that might have a way to do that, a few rungs up the ladder at that.

    itafua and n9mxq Thank this.

if your hubby is having problems tell him to switch trainers this happens all the time if all else fail "you" can call the company and complain to the driver manager or dispatcher and they should be able to help you. dont be afraid to call they usually help

good morning everyone, thank you all again so much
i spoke to my husband 6 minutes last night
i did get a fast text from him also last night
when (if?) i get to speak to him tonight i am hoping i can relay all your suggestions as i agree with you all
i know he was told at one point that his trainer was the one that decided if he got his own truck so he's afraid to rock the boat

i wonder, if there is some thread here that tells new trainees what is and what isn't normal in training?
as we thought that this was somehow a normal part of training to maybe test calm under extreme pressure
i couldn't find anything that addressed things like that
such as what is over the line, what is expected from the trainer and the trainee?

again i can't thank you all enough
you all have no idea how much you helped

his trainer is the equal not his boss but I'm glad it worked out for you communication with your husband is key to being able to be a otr truck driver

ok i just figured out how to reply with a quote so you all know who i am addressing my reply to

    (
it isn't quite worked out, i doubt he will end up otr .....but i did get to hear from him

and i also agree that communication is the key, and more then 6 minutes a day...if at all.... being cut off from your family makes it so much worse then it needs to be
i know he told me that when he does get a chance to talk to me, he's much calmer out there, and that his stress level goes way down...
we have always sat down and talked his stressful days over, it helped him get rid of it and turn the job off
during this training for the most part we didn't have that
so his stress levels were through the roof
he got home here for a few days, and that's when most of these training problems were discussed, i wanted him to change then
he kept telling me he was dreading getting back in that truck
he's wants this job so he did.... i told him if he didn't want to, we'd manage, whatever he decided

but how much you want to bet, he doesn't get to call home today

just know it's not because he doesn't want to he does he's just the position right now with your training that training takes priority I try to call my wife as often as possible and it will get easier as a training goes alongwhat people ask me what it's like to be a truck driverI tell if it's like being in prison respect those days by yourself sometimes not talk to many people and you have to concentrate on what you're doing . with a lot of time to just sit think it can drive you crazy
