New to Prime INC - What to expect (Springfield edition)

when i took my DOT physical for my current job the Duck Walk wasn't part of it

 

Every company is different cr England had us duck walk under the trailer twice to show we can get under there and check the king pin and fith wheel

 

You will duck walk at Prime for the doc. Guaranteed.

 

Ok I ain't worried about it one bit

 

What other stuff do they have you do like lift and climb and other stuff like that

 

How does a depression med disqualify one from driving a truck. The 5 panel DOT drug test does not even check for anti-depressants. I totally understand the drug screen, for ILLEGAL drugs, but what is the point of disqualifying a person for a LEGAL Doctor prescribed drug.

 

This is gonna sound terrible, but 1/3 of my students don't make it. AND it is because they can't multitask. IE shift, read signs, check mirrors, guide truck. IF you can't multi task then you are sunk. As far as shifting goes that generally takes time to get it. So you are allowed, but if while you are driving and you can't do the others at the same time and answer my questions as to which the sign was we just past then you are sunk LOL. But it just takes practice is all. No one is expected to be perfect the 1st week, the second week yeah, but not the 1st lol.

You are allowed to miss a certain nbr of items on the pre trip, but in truth that is the easyest and you should have it down perfectly when you come in to test.

The duck walk is maybe 5 feet, and take it from an old AF guy, its pretty easy.
