Based on time, money, and resources. As a truck driver never being in the same place for long, I would make sure it was worth it. The logistics of being where you would need to be when you needed to be there would be enough to not persue it. Just my 2 cents

This is what the goverenment wants you to do. Not take the time to defend yourself cause it's cheaper to pay them money. Now with csa2010 the insurance companies, brokers and everyone looks at it. Even though it's worthless and no one really knows how to use it your insurance can increase because of it and you be denied loads by brokers who use it. You'd best be concerned what your written up for and do what you can to prevent it as it could cost you money in the end more than just a fine. Once you learn how to fight them it's really easy and doesn't take much time just book a load close to court dates in the area you need to be.

DataQ it and get it removed, that solves your CSA issue and saves you time.

Great, but the case was dismissed. Along with Meltoms advice you should be in the clear. I understand persueing what is right and fair, but if you are completely out of trouble.....whats the use?

You can run 70% legally according to Federal Statute. LLUMAR makes a great clear tint for this. 20% wouldn't be legal here in FL on a passenger vehicle's front windows, much less a truck. Your pushing your luck as your tint is in violation of federal statutes and most likely state statutes.

leaving this alone is the reason these State Cops/DOT gets away with this stuff. A Sheep will leave it alone and just do what its told.

Fight it as I fight everything and anything to clear my name, my business and put down these "Bully" Cops!

I had to threaten data q's with legal action to get it removed.
You do know how that works don't you? They send it back to the same state to rubber stamp it.
This whole system is a sham that's whole purpose is to take our money.
None of this has to do with safety at all. as soon as everyone will say write me a ticket or I'm not signing the inspection report nothing will change. Except it will cost more and more to operate. Only when the write you a citation do you haver ANY rights at all data q's is a joke.
Make them work for it as hard as I do is my motto.

I know how it works, we(the company I work for) DataQ when it's appropriate and we have enough documentation to support our case. When we do it this way we get the majority over turned. When our drivers take it upon themselves to DataQ, more time than not they do not get things over turned. It's all about your presentation and what documentation you have.

Federal statute is about the same as clear window glass. that little band at top of windshield is the tint level.
all the sates I've checked on recgonize medically prescribed window tint as legal reason for having it and my long form notes that it's prescribed.
Of all the inspections I've had only this one decided to fight it. I've had my windows measured many times and let go after some talk.
Now it may not work tomorrow who know's? The last time I was stopped the officer stated that I had been written up for tint and I asked would he mind reviewing my motion to dismiss and what he thought of an officer filing a false report?
To get a citation dismissed when an inspection is done all you would have to do is invalidate the report for some reason and then ask to have the evidence supressed. meaning no inpsection, no ticket.

That sounds good but hasn't been my experience with any of them. Only way they ever done anything is when you force them. Now if you have a 1000 reports you may get a cookie here and there.
when i've called some brokers they say let me check your score. I ask do you know how it works, they say no. I asked one broker lady did you know that
a carrier could have a bad score just by writing the wrong date on a logbook page enough times? She said no. This is a highly flawed system they're using and needs to helped into the trash heap. The only way to do that is drag them through court everytime you can. Make it so costly they will shudder the thought of inspecting a truck.
