I want an older truck, pre-emissions. Ive spoke with a couple companies and they seem ok with older truck, and want 20f% down, with a small buy out at the end.

Thanks I will keep digging.

Best bet if you want a pre-emission truck on a lease is look for regional lenders where you are based. I have a few that do guys just out west that end up having better rates/lower fees/more understanding in what you are looking for, than the bigger national guys. May need a slightly better credit score (600+) but I think if you can qualify with one of them, you'd be better off there.

Im between 650-700, and have some money to put down. Just taking some time doing a little studying, thanks for the help.

my credit is around 490, I had some identity theft problems. apparently when I was 14 I managed to buy a house and two cars, then lose them to foreclosure and repo man... would it be better to do a lease purchase program, or is there a company that'd finance me?

I would work with the reporting agencies and try and get that identity theft off your record.

If you don't have time for that, look for a lawyer or even a bank that may help you out with dispute. It may cost some money up front, but you'll save thousands in interest getting that off.
Its going to affect your ability to do alot more than just purchase a rig (buying/renting a house, buying a car or anything else on credit, or even a job potentially).
There may be some companies out there that would do that (I don't have much experience with lease purchases, other than it isn't very helpful when you apply for real financing), but I would suspect you'll pay significantly more than the truck would be worth, have less flexibility with them, and have a higher chance of default than if you could get your credit rating up a bit. -
Well only problem is, it's all rolled off my credit. I was disputing it and had consulted a lawyer, the. In January I got my credit reports and found out with a detailed report that all this stuff has rolled off my credit, but of course my credit score is still low. Both my aunts were o/o's and being a company man isn't as fun as it was at first..

I can help get someone financed if their credit isn't good and they can't go thru one of the big banks mentioned earlier in this thread.
I'll post a link here that has some options- the collateral option is the most popular:Last edited by a moderator: Mar 24, 2013
