That really giant bug that just landed on the window... it's an FMCSA drone uplinking your brainwaves to the black silent helicopter that's following you. Any deviation from the HOS will get instant no-knock insertion of a black-ops death squad.

    You're cooked!

Lot Lizards are actually undercover DOT officers... they knock on your door to check if you are in there.

I'm sure glad the OP asked this question in the first place. Has any of us ever considered stand up comedy as a second career?

Or you just log all off duty time as OFF DUTY.

I heard years ago, from one of those paranoid people that knew of a scalemaster that lived right across the street from the scale, and would listen for the driver who asks if the scale was closed and the scalemaster would run across the street and open the scale. Anyway, this paranoid person told me that if you logged off duty instead of the sleeper that the scalemaster would require a receipt from a motel. I keep my motel receipts, but I have never had a DOT certfied officer EVER ask me anything about the sleeper berth.

"Oh driver, if you log sleeper berth and out of the truck, they can get you for falsification of logs."

Hasn't happen yet. In fact, I dont even know of anyone that knows of anyone that has ever gotten in trouble for logging sleeper berth as off duty.

"But driver, you have to show at least 8 hours off duty."

And DOT is only concerned with your 11, 14 and 70. Where you play pocket pool is your business. Adios.

Here we go with the motel receipt nonsense again . There is no regulation stating a driver must given any account of what he does off duty .

But if I go from line 1 to line 2, I have to put it on my logs, which is considered work and puts me on line 4 and stops my break...

    Oh I'm so confused... ;)

These paranoid people sound like speed freaks. Keep scratching. Get the bugs out of your skin. Claw your eyeballs out.
