hi all, if anyone has heard on road dog that a town in Ga is considering any big truck parked inside the city limits will be ticketed? i found the councilman's address and emailed him. he thinks a big truck is an eyesore and wants to ban any parking within the city limits. the city is Warner Robins, Ga. if you are parked more than 2 hrs, you will be ticketed....not your shipper/receiver for taking so long, but you. so if you go there and its a sit on the street job...its you who will get the ticket. there are apparently a few empty lots in town, he doesnt want us parking there either, no matter that you are out of hours, there is a truckstop about 30 minutes away. he did, in a second email, say that if we have permission from the lot owner, then we could stay. as if we could do that in most cases. i explained to him the late nite parking, the logbook, the no overnight parking at shipper/receivers......he said we could park on the onramps, outside of town. so fair warning to any driver goin to Warner Robins, Ga.....good luck to ya, i told him i'd refuse any load taking me to his town, he can drive to the next town to do his shopping...i'll not get a ticket bringing him his goods
town to avoid

They had the story in the Truckers Report newsletter. Pretty rotten deal when it is so hard to find places to park.

i'll make sure i dont take no loads there either thanks for the warning

And large boats, travel trailers and RV's isn't an eyesore???
-
If that's their view, all shippers should boycot shipping to them and see how long that lasts.

Is the Pilot at 146 considered city limits??

I mean seriously who pays attention to trucks beside us wannabe truckers and truckers themselves? I think that's retarded because truckers have enough to deal with everyday. The "boss" needs to suck it up and deal with it. What about the housing projects? They're more of a eyesore than a truck by far. I mean I love trucks so I don't mind them. If NO trucks delivered to their town for 2 weeks, they'd like trucks then.

That is Byron, not warner robins

Ok, thanks.

Hmmm, Warner Robins...............a town that only exists due to the fact that there is a large Air Force base there. Let's see this guy try to ticket a truck on the base. What a tool. These people need to find something to do other than screw with us drivers.
