The fact that you are here is a point in your favor. Many of those who get bumped are doing this as a last resort and try to sneek in not disclosing criminal records or drug use. I have seen guys chugging a 40 in their car before going into the first day. So as long as you are clean, honest, and have a good dose of common sense. You should be fine.

That's great to hear that he is still trucking and doing well. I've seen some of his posts on the forum and they have been really helpful and informative for wannabe's like me. Thx for the update, you've had some really helpful posts on other threads that I've read as well, kudos!

Believe it or not, due to the volume of business Central does with Gray hound it is cheaper for the ticket than it is to do the background. From what I was told if they did a check on everyone who applied the cost would be too high. Also there are a number of people who have no problem filling out paper work ect but freak out at the bus stop. If the student does not get on the bus Central does not have to pay.
As far as wasting your time, the only way your time will be wasted is if you lied. The recruiters makes sure the info you give meets the minimum. If you tell them you are a junkie with a suspended licence they will tell you no. If however you tell them you are clean and have never had a ticket they will bring you in. Whos fault is it that time and money was wasted? Yup the butt hole who lied not the company that was taking a prospective employees
    at their word.

Thanks. I was really uprfront with my recruiter, and told her about my speeding ticket back in 2010, and told her about a marijuana possession misdemeanor in 2003, and I listed both of those on the application as well. I plan to be honest about those infractions during the sec. interview. I was just hoping that if my recruiter acknowledged and accepted those 2 infractions, then surely it wouldn't be something that I would be rejected for once getting there and admitting those things during the security interview, right?

Ugggggggggggggggg...I had to sit 2 days to get a load home, then took 3 days off (I have not been home since Christmas) now DEF injector cloggs and turns my truck down to 5mph. Now shop wont even look at it for 2 days so that is at least a week of sitting and $100+ for hotel and you bet Central is still getting their $915/wk of fixed costs. I'm not complaining, because I have planned for this by having a cushion, just giving an example of why it is important to have a cushion and to give an example of how things can build up.

Where did you breakdown?? If its going to be a bit, and you can get to SLC, they will get you a loaner... Also contact O/O, they can get you some 'down time' pay... It's not much, but will cover hotel costs if you're not rolling.

Glad you prepared by having an oops cushion... Good for you!! It's hard not to touch that just to 'pay it back' later!

Broke down is Stockton. Rodger said that he will get me a loaner if it's going to be more than 3 days. The shop said they might look at it tomarrow, probably tuesday before they even start working. Hopefully they give me an honest estimate. Last time the truck was in the shop for 10 days. Started with call back tomarrow, then "Should be ready tomarrow", then "Maybe 2 more days" ect, but never gave me a solid 3+ day estimate so getting a loaner was almost impossible, finally got central to rent me a w9 for 3 days.
