I got that for a bit when we lived in Arizona, "no trees-too much wind" went back to China, wound up getting a job offer that had me in Puerto Rico for 10 months, then East Tennessee, east of Knoxville. Wound up in St. Louis area, now all I hear from her is "I want to move back to Tennessee..." She went back to China for a few weeks in January, couldn't stand the pollution, was glad to be back to U.S. Still wants to go back to Tennessee though. Can't say as I blame her.

Not all of us leave and go back home, and not all of us only come here to become a citizen. I am still here, and I am not a citizen either. Happy the way things are.

Good Luck, I hope you have a job to come back to, This moron in the white house is doing his level best to put us all on welfare. Its tough out there in the job market if you don't have any marketable skills and you better bloody well do a fantastic job of selling yourself in an interview to get a good job as there is alot of competition now... wish you and the wife the best!!

Been there done that, lived in China 8 years. Jobs here in U.S. are Medical field, IT, Truck driving decent paying, crappy retail. Notice I put truck driving in "decent paying" category. In comparison to a lot of jobs it still is decent paying after the first year. NO career will pay decent the first year. Most of the non-driving jobs I run across don't even pay what I made back in the mid 90's

I left east TN twice and always came back. Once you live here no other place feels like home.

My idea for trucking comes from a few articles that I've read about married couples earning about 100k a year. Any opinions about that ? Do any of you know of other treads related to married couples trucking ? I expect that it's going to be a lot of hard work , but just how hard / how much , I don't have a very good idea about. 10 hours on / off
each for 21 days with a 3 day break ? Maybe less than 21 days and more days off ? I have some serious doubts about how much my wife will be able to handle. My idea is to go into for about 5 years. What made me quit trucking 10 years ago was : The loneliness and boredom ( especially when sitting , waiting ) Getting some crappy paychecks. Then working for an independent guy, he told me to drive his truck ( that was stalling every 3 minutes ) past a DOT check point.
