Lots of luck getting home on the weekends. In trucking you have to devote all your time to trucking.Unless you can give it 100% I very much doubt the companies you mentioned will let you attend their schooling unless they do schooling in your city.

driving school with a carrier is probably your best,I would stay away from CR england tho if you can, drill weekends you will need to talk to recruiters about but most carriers are good with militray folks, but wont be feasable during training.Prime has a good school with chioces of what to do tanker, flatbed, reefer. but these scholls will generaly require a 1yr commitment for the cost of schooling. start talking to the different recruiters see what they got say and what works out best for you. Good Luck

Here is some free advice man, I am former active duty, and this is the route I took.

Check these guys out. http://www.sageschools.com/ They accept GI Bill payment, see if they are in your area. If they are, go to them. Out of all the CDL school options I found, these guys were the best, with the one on one instruction being a main point, not to mention they are a PTDI school. I took the PTDI 150 course, and graduate in a week. I have orientaition dates set with three companies already, and will probably be a total of 5 by the end of the week you get to CHOOSE where you work, as opposed to being forced into a contract, with a lower standard of instruction.

Go to https://www.ebenefits.va.gov/ebenefits-portal/ebenefits.portal immediately and sign up for Chapter 33 Post 9-11 GI Bill education benefits. Get the ball rolling asap, as it takes an average of 53 days (as of 2-4-2013) to get approved.

During the application process for GI benifits, keep in contact with the VA rep from the school that you choose, mine was awesome, and she helped pester the VA, and I got into the school before they had recieved final approval ( I showed my DD214, with years of service, and a honorable code, and that was good enough.)

You get around $1500 to live on from the VA while attending school.

Sage (at least my particular class,) will schedule around Drill.

    Good luck, man!

Cjh-army has the best advice for you. Check into your GI bill.
I get home for drill, I put in for my home time as soon as I get back in my truck and let them know it is for military duty. Also, if worse comes to worse you may have to talk to your unit and see if you can split train a drill, the unit I was with during my training phase of trucking understood and let me split train my drills until I was done training. I went to Roadmasters for my CDL then was in training with Crete, and they got me home for drill 98% of the time. The company I am with now, Andrus, gets me home for every drill as long as I let them know in advance.
