Don't worry about drug tests! That's just to scare you, nobody up here does testing. Cost to much and they need drivers to much.

tong81 I've been working in the ND oilfields for over 2 years now. No way in hell does Haliburton start guys @ $28 an hour!!! You'd be lucky to start at $15-17 an hour in my opinion. Remember believe half of what you see and none of what you hear! I always get a kick out of reading all the BS people post on this forum. There are so many ######### working up here now I don't believe a dam thing any of them say! Not sure why anyone would want to work for Haliburton anyways.... Rig moving is where the $$$$ is!!!!!! Also DrivingCrude not sure where you work but the better company's up here drug test all the time! With the way people drive up here they should test a lot more in my opinion.

Halliburton pays u ####.... But they provide housing and stuff that's the trade off.. You want a Good job here then u better believe they drug test.... The scab companies that don't test prob won't pay u or last long... The days of the little guy trucking companies is at its end... Out power fuel leasers have at least 3 days off a week due to no work... While we work our ##### off... A lot of the other smaller companies that I seen all over last year and gone or running a truck or two just to keep a little money coming in.

So what would be a good company to look for getting hired on ? I have years of over the road and all endorsements just looking for the most hours and housing . I understand hours will come and go but searching for the steady hours in a sense.

Find a name brand company...if ur a contractor in Afganistan. Halliburton will be interested. They like mil/ gov people... Once u do that then u learn how things go up here and then u can decide whereupon want to go from there.

I'm in the Chicago area and Jones Trucking LLC has a posting on the local craigslist here. Does anyone have any experience with them? I have been driving for 11 years with the last year doing hot oil tanker and local gas delivery. I have doubles/triples and hazmat, but have no chaining or mountain experience. With these skills would I be a good fit up there? Thanks ahead for any help

I just looked at jobsnd.com. Im not looking for a job, just heard all these stories about truck drivers making a billion dollars a week bla bla bla...

If you have YEARS of crude oil/petroleum experience and a clean record you too could move to the most miserable place on earth and pay $2000 a month to live in a 10' by 10' room while earning.......... Wait for it....... Wait......

    Yep

The best paying job out of the hundred or so that I looked at was $26 an hour.

Thats rookie pay for a fuel hauler in most cities on the west coast. Why would you move to that gods foreskin (yes foreskin) place to net the same money you could by moving to L.A. and living on the beach and hauling gas to stations for 10 hours a day?

When you hear people say "I earn $60,000 a year up here"... YEAH because you work 70+ hours a week! Do that in sunny Phoenix or San Diego and you'd be earning $80,000 while paying LESS for a place to live and laying on a beach looking at bikinis on your day off.

Now granted I'm working in Alberta and our wages may be different, and I'm more of a skilled trade with a class 1 license but 100k is a OK/average year. Oil hauling is only one of many jobs in the patch. And far from the best paying. All my skill and knowledge has been picked up in the school if hard knocks, nothing that actually has a degree from any college. Skills that any mere truck driver can pick up if he stays awake while he is on location and asks a few questions.
