I was just talking about this with another Schneider driver lol even though our rigs our older, a nice wash makes us feel a little but better about them. What I hate is when I grab a trailer that looks like it's been to hell and back. Not even the trailers at the academy look as bad.

Question: can we report on our expenses when we have to pay for parking at a truck stop?

As far as I know SNI won't pay that, although it is a write off for you

It depends on dbl. But really who pays. Two meals cover the fee needed to park.

What does the Grey Cascadias stand for? Are they for special dedicated routes or just OTR trucks that are odd? I'm talking on the company side.

Nothing special about them. They started buying gray trucks so they would be easier to resell in 6 years when they pull them from service. They've found that there isn't much of a market for orange trucks as you can see by the hundreds of them sitting around the terminals. I drove one for 8 months until I quit.

Grey and orange trucks are for regional and OTR drivers. White trucks are for dedicated accounts.

    BossOutlaw88 Thanks this.

Some of the grey ones are leased deals for 3 years also. But yeah the multi colored trucks are for better resale. There was a time each color was for dedicated or regional runs.

Save all your receipts. You can pretty much write off everything you buy on the road. You can write off your cell phone bill since you're using it for work. Boots, work pants/shirts, staples, paper clips, pens, notepads, calculator, gloves, air freshener, glass cleaner, Meals, satellite radio, etc. If you want to take your truck to the truck wash, save that receipt and deduct it. Just be sure you have a receipt for any deduction in case of an audit.
