I know that feeling of "wow that could have been a lot more expensive"... Guys who can diagnose and treat their own issues without having it towed to a shop are becoming more rare. You have an advantage over many o/o's.

I recently had one do that to me. The connections were good, but the ECM power and ground were not on the same battery. The problem was a battery jumper wire. I moved the ECM ground to the same battery as the power and replaced the bad jumper.

I had a 2000 pete 379 with a c15 cat. And. It was shutting off. Sometimes and will start but wont run or if yu sit it will start. ..what we did was you see the wiring harness on top along the valve cover It is held by steel clamps. Pull the wire harness back or ahead. Ad check for wear thru. The wire harness has crappy loom and there wearing thru the loom and the wire where they are inside the clamps The wire is shorting thru the steel clamps

Bumping an old thread here, but you guys just saved me a ####### of money with this thread. Excuse my language but I'm that happy about it. A $.43 wire terminal caused my 2005 Pete 385's C13 to go nuts. Thanks a bunch drivers!
