So can anyone tell me how a trucking company can put on your dac report that you were employed with them if you only went to one day of orientation, never recieved pay, equipment, or anything else? Sounds like a scam to me???

I went to a company, for about 3 hours of orientation decided pretty fast they had already lied about the company, which is the norm for most companies to lie to get the driver there and then tell them how it really works and to say they never said any such thing. but anyhow i went for about 3 hours and told them it was not for me, however they put on my dac that I left with no notice, how can you leave with no notice when you were never really employed there?

It happend to me about six years ago with gainey. I was told there is nothing you can do about it.
I just want to make sure you know you have to list that on a aplacation.
Just put the day and that you only went to the copmany's orientation.

I understand, however if you put them as an employer on your application you are not telling the truth. It would be no different than walking into a car dealership looking around and not buying a car. If you have not had a drug test for the company then you are not employed by them as a driver. I think the truck drivers of this country should stand up for their rights, and trust me you have no rights when it comes to companies reporting to DAC.

Because the DAC reporting Agency (USIS) MUST comply with the Federal Fair Credit Reporting Laws, even IF you cannot have this "misleading" information removed from your DAC, you HAVE THE RIGHT to have an explanation added to your record that gives YOUR side of the story.

But FIRST, (if I were you) I would send a Certified Letter to USIS and demand they REMOVE the WRONG information from your DAC. They have 30 days to investigate, and if they cannot verify the information with-in that 30 day period, they MUST remove it.
SOMETIMES, the company that reported you "quit without notice" might "forget" and not get the verification back to USIS with-in the 30 day period.

Short of that, you can add "your version" of the story to your DAC, which USIS BY LAW must provide to companies who request your DAC.

You could also bring a lawsuit against the company for placing the information on your DAC in retaliation, but that takes money.

    psanderson Thanks this.
