Ok so here's the thing,if there was water in the old oil,why isn't there some amount of pressure on the radiator cap?as far as injector cups, the head I found had bad threads where one of the cups threads into the head that they were able to clean up with a tap.what a mess to say the least....edit for Heavyd, the steam is very thick and hot, with water dripping

Sorry I was typing at the same time. You may have answered your own problem with the bad thread deal. As to your other question the water in the oil would be what dripped in while pulling the head and would go directly to the oil pan hence no pressure and no oil in radiator.

One other thing if you want to save some money, do what Stranger said and let it set overnight and pull the plug or loosen and see if you have water(water will always go to the bottom) as soon as you see oil cap it, run it some more and see if you still have the problem, if so you will have to go deeper.

pull a valve cover and make sure there is no muck in there. If there is no gray sludge you are probably ok. I have two 3406's that produce a little more blow by that i would like but are ok. If you start making oil aka water...pull the pan and check the liners.

Thanks for keeping us updated. Try what was suggested before, won't cost anything, but I'm beginning to think cracked head or injector cup.
