Im getting ready to take my DOT physical and have high blood pressure. I take medication to contol it and my reading are good - 117/82. Am I required to disclose my medical info regarding blood pressure to the DOT if my readings are good? Do they test for blood pressure meds in your system? Being a newby can they disquilify me for having HBP and being on medication? Thanks Bryan

Are you company or o/o with your own authority. If you are company or leased on to the company #### straight you have to tell them.. but it will be on the company paperwork I wouldnt go out of my way to tell anyone but it WILL be on the company paperwork.

You sign the medical form stating that it is accurate and true.

Have an accident or medications are found in the vehicle, then the medical form is invalidated and so will the cdl.

If you keep it under control with meds you will be able to get your card for a year at a time, not the 2 year card.

I'm sure there are many out there with high BP. Just went for another DOT card and put down my meds for high BP. The only thing with that is you can only get it for 1 year no big deal. Just thinking about your question most likely the meds will show on the piss test. As long as your BP is controlled your fine.

They won't disqualify you for being on bp meds. I have been on them for my whole driving career, but you will get a one year medical card, not a big deal.

it has to be reported along with the meds used to control it,like Tony said it's a shorter med card period.
