LIES! LIES!
The Lobbyists are propagandizing everyone into believing there is a shortage! I think the lobbyists are starting to believe their own lies! Ask any company that needs freight shipped (LTL or truckload) if they have any trouble getting someone to take it! The store shelves are all full, WHAT THE HELL ALL THEY TALKING ABOUT?!?
Of course, this could all be solved by simply allowing Mexicans to start driving OTR here! That would keep wages/costs down. Also the industry lobbyists need to keep convicing the gov that they need to keep getting outrageous benefits for hiring new guys, and run them out of the industy a year later.
Wow! Hasn't this issue been overdone here in this forum?

This is an old post from the dead, But still rings the same today,
They say Trucker Shortage, but it is more of Insurance Co.s won't let you hire the good truckers problem, but as of right now, a lot of truckers are not getting miles anyways, I don't really want to see to many come into it until things pick up, but then again, who am I but a person who is rather new myself...... -
Anybody got any info on New Castle School of Trades? Really thinking about going there. Not too much info on here about them.

driver shortage? a bunch of bs. there are drivers trying to get training every week.

I don't think x-drivers as dispatchers are necessarily a better thing, had a few, and were some of the worst. Many more just worked the phones while on medical. If it's not basic attitude problems, personality issues, or just incompetence - they're the "old school" types with no clue what driving under the new 'regs are like.
Logistics management is a serious college level profession, and the best ones I've had never "drove", still made me lots of money.
Lowballing pay/benni's on dispatch and load planning staff cause the best ones to move to government, and other private sector positions - leaving the trucking industry with "entry level" skill and experience. -
With all those "shortages" it takes less and less to get fired, perplexing.

My question is are they're still truck drivers out there.Only thing I saw was mostly a bunch of self centered steering wheel holders come on!
