Roller van trailers are generally used for air freight. The rollers retract into the floor while in transit or hauling a normal load, and with the flip of a switch they raise up and the freight rolls off. The rollers add a couple thousand pounds to the trailer, so don't book anything heavy until you have an empty weight. I did a lane match for ya, and there is an agent that had some roller loads out of there, but not recently. It couldn't hurt to call him/her though. Most likely since they're giving you the trailer, the shipper isn't active with LS anymore.

PS......when you book a load with an agent always get a freight bill sent to you before you move on it and print it out.......this is your proof that you had a load booked and is in the system, what it's paying and how the money is broken out, and also note any special circumstances or problems. As you get to know various agents you will learn who you can trust and who you can't but very and I very very rarely even after 8 years do I move without a freight bill in hand.Dewey120 and russellkanning Thank this. -
Ya it was trailer utilization. The money finally came over a little while ago. So I can treat that roller trailer van like a regular 53' dry van then, just get a load under 35,000? Also the guy from trailer utilization wants me to get this trailer to Chicago eventually. Is he trying to get me to do an equipment move for free? I will be hanging out at the port of Oakland tonight, hopefully I can get something out of that area tomorrow.

Don't worry about getting to Chicago until you can with or without that trailer......you need to get booking freight and running and if Chicago works out along the way fine........call the Oakland agents and see what they have, Thursdays and Fridays are good times to get out of the Bay Area......be looking early too when the East Coast opens!!Dewey120 Thanks this. -
