hello forum, I applied at prime but I was denied because I have a speeding ticket in February 2012, and I was going more than 15 mph past the speed limit. Will FFE hire me with this speeding ticket on my record, or should I move on and apply elsewhere?

Keep trying, you may find someone willing to overlook it - hopefully you haven't shelled out a lot of money to a driving school at this point. However, most carriers are not going to touch you for 3 years from the date of conviction.

Try Raider Express in Ft. Worth.
Try all the companies and maybe you'll be lucky.
Otherwise, try going to a private CDL school & then some company will hire you. It may not be the most desirable company in the USA, but it's a start. -
Most speeding tickets issued are over 15 mph. Need to fix them with a simple court visit or a phone call next time. These safety freaks act like you've done a really bad thing. The same safety freak that denied you is probably running 15 over on his way to work right now trying to get around one last big rig before the exit ramp. Get with a ltl carrier and run a yard hostler until it clears in a couple years. Our yard guys make around $23 hr. No hazmat or special skills needed. They even receive tips from us drivers for hooking our pups for us from time to time.
CondoCruiser Thanks this. -
You are going to have a hard time for 3 years as 15 over is considered a major violation. You could of gone to jail for reckless driving if the cop was a butt.
Next time fight it and get it reduced to 5-10 over. It's well worth the attorney fees.
If you find a job you better stick with it until this all blows over. Like rodknocker says consider local. Many are slack on background checks and a little more forgiving.
Respect that CDL! It's your bread and butter. Have fun other ways. -

After waiting a couple days, I finally got the call back from the recruiter so I could ask this question to her. She said as long as the cop didn't charge me with reckless driving, I should be ok. So now I have to call my local police station and ask them to look up the ticket and see if it was simply a speeding charge or reckless driving.
