I'm looking for any Swift drivers that have been charged with a preventable accident because they failed to maintain speed on a freeway or highway as a car merged from an on ramp. In other words, you slowed down or sped up to allow a car to merge, but the car slowed down or sped up too and a crash occurred.

    Thanks,
    Mags

This type of thing happens to drivers no matter what the company is but I would guess happens more with starter companies. You may or maynot be at fault here but as swift sees it it's preventable. They don't like the drivers anymore then FMCSA does.Question for all you swift drivers, before backing do you have to send in G.O.A.L over the qualcomm?I heard that awhile back from swift driver because of too many backing accidents.

Accident on on and off ramps are preventable. Your are suppose to maintain your speed if you are the vehicle already on the freeway. I have actually received a citation for changing lanes on CA101 south of Salinas, to allow a CHP to enter the freeway. Why would a accident not be preventable because it is at a merge point.

Sucks but they could hit your dac with it. Even if its the merging car/trucks job to merge safely, they could say your speeding up or slwong down, yielding or switching lanes caused them to be unable to merge safely. Highway patrol may not say anything but the company could. They would b a di.. move but they could.

By Law you do not have to yield the right of way to merging traffic. Merging traffic are supposed to yield right of way to you, because you are at highway speed traveling down the highway. Sounds to me like the vehicle in question was setting you up for accident so that they can file a lawsuit against your company. This happens all of the time, because there are big paydays involving trucks. It is a said state of affairs, but it happens everyday like I said. Good luck to you.

By law you on the hwy don't have to yield but I always do because ppl coming from the ramp can't read or they take the yield sign as just a suggestion

Had a Swiftie run me into the lane to my left which was occupied by a JB Hunt when Swift failed to yield as he/she attempted to merge. I still don't know how me and JB both fit into that same lane!

It was like I was the meat in a JB Swift sandwich.

I think half the idiots out there don't even know what a merge or yield means when getting on the get on. I always look to see if they are looking for traffic or are they too busy on their phone. Then if you do move over to let them in, and there is traffic nobody will let you back over and just keep passing on the right and looking at you like you are the idiot.
