People get WAY to bent out of shape, when we should be helping each other. Excuse me that I don't have 400 years experience, but that's why I'm here, to learn and get information from those who know the way. EVERYONE on this forum had THEIR first year in this business. And MOST of us are grown men (and women) and deserve to be treated with common decency. I can't speak for the mammas boys among us. that's a different issue.
Just so you know I'M PAYING FOR THIS MYSELF !!! Out of my OWN pocket ! No company school, no government grants, no jobcorps paying my way! And I DON'T say that with ANY bragging. That's ONLY so you know that I'm serious about my career choice and want to do the best and do my best and work for the best company possible. Because, like it or not, business is business. I have been working for 36 years now earning a paycheck. I can take 95% of whats posted on this forum and interchange it with almost any field of work. There are some things that are specific to specific work places, such as trucking, but business is the same. Deal with it. Nothing makes you so special and GOD Almighty because you've got more experience than me behind the wheel. It's ALL about work ethic. You either have it or you don't!!! I personally know a lot of truckers who have GREAT work ethic and have many years experience and who inspired me to persue this path. I also know a few truckers with experience who "ain't worth a ####" and they have a WORTHLESS work ethic. Consequently, there's a few guys I'm in school with who I KNOW are gonna be GREAT drivers. And I can also show you the ones who are gonna be worthless and whiners. It's all about work ethic!!!
Have a great day everyone!
And to those who have already helped me and to those who will in the future, I Thank You !!! -
And we ALL know what that means!!!

I work for knight but i have also worked for other companies before hand too. For me this company has been very good to me so far, but on the other hand of that every company is different and its based on attitude and what is sutiable for you. They work for me but I can give you some insight since i do work for them there are some terminals that are um to be nice not very informed or put together. I havent been to the reno terminal i cant tell you about them but if you do want information call pheonix az. starting out they are a good company in my opinion but i have also worked for CRE and Werner i suggest staying away from them. On the other hand 1st impressions are the strongest impressions and my daddy always told me to follow my gut so follow your gut it'll probably be a better answer for you lol

lol. Not that you would want. I got the best one!!! Lol -
I had heard that they were a "realitivily" good company. I know people who drive for them who are very happy and recommend them. It's not ALL bad like Swift, Werner and CRE. I'm NOT really upset with Knight. The post was geared towards, Is this how the "office" portion of your company works? That's not a good sign if your advertising for drivers and won't even talk to them. Give over information that you should know. do your job. I'm expected AND WILL DO my job.
But again, I PERSONALLY know some drivers who are very happy at Knight. -
thats cool and yeah some of the offices are like that. they should know what they are talking about but a lot of the offices arent very formal lol. they like the casual side of things

I was going to drive for knight back in the 90's the first day of orientation the shuttle driver of the hotel realized there wasnt enough room on the van for all of us so he said two of us were going to have to sit on another grown mans lap because he wasnt going to make a second trip for 2 people.I told him im not going to do that so he did make a 2nd trip and after he did he reported me to to knights management where this fool tried to tell me it was the hotels rules and I had to follow them . So they sent me home, thank god they did....
-
Seriously? That's just unsafe. It is not the hotel rules, that driver was just lazy. Anyone knows that a van has maximum seating capacity and if it is full, you have to make a second trip. In face any van that does 15 seating I believe requires a P endorsement. Just my thoughts.
