Thanks for the heads up "Doubled4287" your doin a great job. BTW, I am an O/O w/ 53' Stepdeck, Volvo VNL780, running my own authority but tired of all the excess paperwork for the FMCSA, and just looking for a "Best of the Worst" to lease to so I can drive more with less time spent running the company. I am just a one man show with one truck.

Round Trip towaways are company owned trailers OR shipper owned trailers that you do Power Only on.

 

You drop your trailer and pull the customers to wherever and then sounds like a reload and backhaul to the yard, then drop that one and pick yours up again. The one you pull might be a LS trailer or it might be the customers own trailer. Usually you get paid 70% on this kind of work, and most times you can drop your trailer right there at the customers yard. Sounds like some kind of retail or grocery run.

Did they not furnish you with an agents guide in orientation......all agents are listed by state, problem is you might be dealing with someone in Maine to haul Calif. freight but generally the local agents can at least point you in the right direction. Yea, I was looking today and the Bay Area is dead.....was decent earlier in the week but yesterday was the end of the month so everybody got their last minute stuff out already......probably wanna go ahead and get to SoCal, it will be better down there.

 

That is not freedom..........for 150K,sounds like slave to me.
I made that much driving here local for less than 11hr per day and home every single day,Mo-Fri plus all the hollydays included,that's real freedom to me.
At LANDCRAP it will never happen,to pack over $90.000 into your pocket.Yes SIR............I am verry happy and free,after work,daily.
Just remeber........local pays always.

 

The FREEDOM is also the main reason I came to LS. I dont think any of us are going to get rich no matter where we are at. LOL

 

how many weeks do you get off and how many days a week do you not work 11 hrs a day,and do you go where you want everyday? If you get tired of doing the same thing every day do you have the choice of going to a different area and not have to ask permission? All of that is freedom to have the choices and no one to argue with about it. LMAO

 

Why does someone always want to tell us OTR drivers we don't know what freedom is since we don't go home every night? Why do they think of we aren't doing it their we are stupid?

When they condensed us in this way it always makes me wonder if they even know what the definition of freedom of choice is.After all, was not this country founded on the ability of people to make choices for themselves?

I hate to argue.But i call BULL ####E on you making 150k and home every night..UPS is the strongest wage and my cousin drives doubles for them.Those guys don't even make 150k...

We make a great living here..You are correct,we will never get rich.But our FREEDOM is untouchable...I only worked 8 months last year...This year i am shooting for 7 months..lol

 

Landstar is the best IMO for step deck...Come over here...
