Kaplan will take any age and I just talked to landstar and they said the have no age limit. both place require an inspection first though. I have my 96 classic at kaplan. I helping a friend out to find him a job, most companies with an age limit have a 2002 or newer a few 5 years or newer but not many.

If Cali can get away with it, expect other states to soon follow. It is always one that will try it, see if it works, and then the tidal wave of followers are soon behind.

Its a good thing you never go to ports in VA, MD, and TX...

You are very lucky to have that Crystal ball that showed you that no other states will adopt CARB rules in the next 5 years so you dont have to worry about your truck being obsolete before its paid for.

No worries here. They will do whatever they are going to do,so why worry..Not to mention i am blessed to have been in trucking when we made dynamite money.I have invested well and if i walk away i can say thank you to the trucking industry..I feel more sorry for the younger drivers faced with a long life of minimum wage, sub standard working conditions, poor health care and the cheap wages...Trucking is an ''entry'' level position anymore and it is very sad what has happened since i got my chauffers..All i can say is thank god my home is paid for and i have invested my money the right ways over the years.

Landstar will only take a truck with an electronic engine for new leases due to all new leases having to have EOBRs.
