I don't think it's so much the "government we elect" that might push onboard camera logging systems ... it's a society guided by a trade group of lawyers who do nothing except look for accidents involving big trucks because they have deep pockets and substantial liability limits. A truck today is assumed guilty until proven innocent in today's courts with today's jury's, so if a camera can prove a trucker was NOT at fault, great, if it proves he was at fault, that was going to happen anyway. And if they have the added effect of making drivers drive a little more conservatively than before ...
I'm not an advocate for cameras but put yourslef in the carrier owner's shoes for a day ... you have 3,000 drivers out there pushing 50-80k lbs of freight across the nation in all sorts of traffic and weather conditions, amongst a society of automobile drivers that values seconds and minutes. And in every group of 10 4-wheelers, there is 4 who are on the phone or texting, and there is 2 that have aggressive driver tendencies, and there are 3 that need an injury law suit to pay off their over-whelming debt. And you would not do everything within reason to protect your name that is on the side of all those thousands of trucks?
Cameras and E-logs and Automatics oh my!

I don't know who or where you heard companies are going automatics. But you better do more research.Only a handful has automatics. One day all automatics will become obsolete. What do you have against elogs warwagon?Yiu don't know anything about logging do you?Plz quit trying to get in with the bigboys and stick to learning.
mje Thanks this. -
U guys are getting way off subject. Hey OP dont be fearful dude. If you go to a company that has automatics right off the get go most here would tell you that is not good because most of us learned manual first. All these guys posting right now know how to drive manual But now drive auto (well except the 1yr rookie on page 1) including myself. Not bad for an auto 10 speed eaton fuller auto she pulls bro. Camaras well I dont have any and e-logs I dont have those either so not everybody is got them. Just relax and learn dont worry about equipment.
