I recently started with a new company. They gave me a 2011 t660 with super singles 385,000 miles. I was really excited having only been in mack and Volvos. Got going and noticed the truck didn't really feel planted to the road it floated all over. Thought maybe cause I was empty. Got loaded and headed out only to notice the really rough ride. So I scale had 11,600 on steers, 32,000 on drives and 32,000 on tandems, The truck stayed straight but I can feel every bump in the road. The front axle especially. When I hit rough spots it jus seems as the front end is loose or wore out. And when I hit the unavoidable cracks and pot holes the front axle feels as if I hit a wall, shakes and raddles the whole truck. Maybe I expected to good of a ride out of it idk. Any input would be great. p.s I wrote it up to the shop so hopefully its something fixable.

I know our t-600's ride rough too cause of the set-back front axle on these trucks. You can feel just about every bump on the road and then when you hit big bumps or go over rough railroad tracks the dash shakes so bad it seems like it will come off in your lap. I just think this is something you will have to get used too coming from your other trucks you drove. Maybe your front shocks could be wore out too and maybe that will help some. Just my .02.

What are the pressures in the tires? If they are to high it will cause a rough ride.

I will have to check the air pressure. I assume it was good since I got the truck straight out of the shop where they checked everything but never know. Iv been home for the weekend so ill have to see if anything was done to the truck or if it is what it is. thanks for the input

check the pressure in the wheels, if you are going long distance drives the steer wheels will need about 90 to 100 psi as the wheels will expand during transit

My new 660 also rides rough. I had a 379 pete previously , before that i had 9400 IH 's ... It seems like the bump stops are far to close to the springs loaded axle travel is approx 3" , tractor has 12,000pds on it to get this close...35,000 miles on it now ..
