The title says it all. Just wondering. What's the insurance implications of doing so?

OK, for those of you who move freight using a pickup and flatbed... How many of you add vehicles to your load list?

Sorry if that wasn't clear. It never occurred to me that people would think I was asking "are you growing?" My apologies for the lack of clarity.

Are you asking about auto hauling ? It requires $1,000,000 liability rather than $750,000 . The reason is vehicles with internal combustion engines have a hazmat classification but don't require placarding or a hazmat endorsement . http://me3con.com/?p=183
Although there are quite a few haulers pulling 3 car wedges with a 1 ton it isn't recommended . Most loads will put you over 26,000 lbs . And 3 car loads are a favorite target at the scales .
There are very few good paying auto loads anyway unless you have an enclosed trailer and haul antiques or exotic vehicles .

Not now . I hauled RV;s back in the day before they closed plants in CA , TX , MD , OR , KY ,and PA . When those plants were open contractors could get a decent percentage of backhauls
I was in the process of getting my own authority when my former employer called me back saying they had been able to get a rate increase .

Back then I worked on a guy's truck... A 90 dodge / Cummins with 875,000 on it. Hauled RV's, but I have no idea who he worked for. He was on his 2nd or 3rd injection pump (that's what I was doing for him). Was hardly any paint left on the truck, but it ran great once I got done. I remember the guys with 6.9's and 7.3's were switching to Dodges in droves, starting about 91. I left that industry in 2000, but by then we saw very few RV haulers anymore here in the Northwest.

Reminds me, I saw an ad for a guy to work PART TIME moving RV's for the manufacturer - about 30 miles from me. Pay by the hour to move them from assembly line to where the drivers pick them up to deliver. $10/hr. :)
