Orientation continued.
The rest of the week is spent in class watching videos and testing, some instructor teaching and more testing. It is mostly focused on safety. The big thing here is that you remember you are on a week long interview. We had one guy that was late for class after a break. The instructor was going to send him home until he said he was in the bathroom. Believe me it was a tense moment. But, the reason he gave was the ONLY reason that would save him. They are strict.
Our job offers were late in coming due to weather were they do the hair testing. The labs were a little late getting them back. So, we were sent to our next training phase. Most went to the securement class while I went to TCD training. That was training on the Temperature controll unit on the trailers and some Canadian crossing and logging info. We got our job offers late on Thursday afternoon. Then I finished my TCD training and went the motel by the truck stops to wait for my Road Instructor. So, that is pretty much it in a nut shell. It is tough, but if you are in average shape, you can do it.
I will be posting in the other link as my adventure continues. -
