i dont think ill mess with chains. i heard its really dangerous to chain in chaining areas.
sorry for the lack of updates. haventg had wifi access till now. fiance is with me near the TA in Morris, IL.
ive got 72 hours and ive got most of my backings. mentor says ill be doing the midterm soon, which will be map reading and about macros. ive heard from other millington classmates that its easy but im a bit nervous about it.
also, pay wise has not been good. cuz we get short runs theres not that much opportunity to drive so im only getting about 200 a week. and they said it was 500 a week. what they really MEAN is that u can get UP TO 500 a week, depending on how much u can drive.

you get paid for on duty not driving also. chaining is no fun, but you better learn how while you have someone to teach you. lucky for me,there was an o/o who showed me last week and i never chained in my life b4 that. and i ended up chaing that night

ive found that when i think of snow and chaining i get nervous but when the time comes ive always chained and never sat because of weather. snow and ice doesnt matter. its all about finding out your limits. there have been times that i have gone past my comfort limits but in the end only you will know if you can run or not

Thanks for the update Marky. I too am a Swift Newbie and after my training I signed on with an O/O. I am driving his truck and after a month, have finally stopped paying Swift for the privilege of driving for them. Good luck.

Hi Markup I wish you luck in ur training if you need and advice or anything let would be glad to help
. -
so, ive been out with my mentor for 3 weeks, almost 4. ive only got 75 hours. i need 240. the paychecks SUCK. they said 500 a week, im lucky to get 250. the trainings sposed to be 6 weeks long, but at the rate im getting hours im gonna have to be out for at LEAST another month to get my own truck.
my mentor said i know what i need to know to drive the truck while he sleeps. but swift still requires me to finish their training. my fiance and i cant do this for another 2 months.
i want my own truck, i want decent checks.
does any1 have any recommendations? -
talk to your dm. let hm/her know you're not getting the hours. see if they can get you another trainer. sucks to have a trainer thats on a dedicated route. mine was on the container division and only ran the i-10 to l.a.- phx-houston and back. but i was only 50 hrs training. even talk to your trainer and see what he can do. hope it all works out for you.

Get a new trainer. You should be much farther along. Good luck.

Called my dm. He said figure your avg and call me back. I need 10 more backings.
Mentor says I do the midterm tomorow at inver grove. Ne1 have any advice or pointers?
