My qc was down today too. I'm. Kinda hoping that I don't get a service failure. I picked up a load in Portland this morning and made it to cflst (don't ask how) and dropped it then line 5ed to kfsto for an am pickup. However said load delivers on the 4th in Milpitas. But I'm assuming if they sent a load to me that picked up and delivers before my current load they are planning on me dropping it. I can just see the qc msg in the am on the 4th. "What's your eta to Milpitas?"
Oh well I was offered a local job today $16/hr 60hr per week. If they hit me with a sf they can recover my truck in Portland.

My first thought was, that's a pay cut. My second was, that lucky ####### has a job waiting at home! Lol. I still don't understand why they have so many impossible loads OTR. Every drop I pick up seems to have been sitting there for a day or two. Be nice if they were planned around our routes. Instead it seems like someone sits on the phone saying yes to everything that comes across... I've got to go to a wAlmart 360 miles away tonight, then pick up a preload that was ready yesterday 200 miles away, then make it 400 more miles to deliver on Monday. It seems easy until I get to Walmart and it ends up being a slow day. I'm milking my break now to push back my 14 so I have more time to run... Still nervous somebody will end up stuck in the area I'm headed to and they'll just yank the preset out from under me. 10 days at home wasn't enough!!

i was at the laramie pilot today listening to one of are fellow drivers doing nothing but ######## and complaining i tried to tell him switch dm's talk to them figure it out. You try to tell them what worked for you when you were new but they are better than you ever were. Well to find out he was telling me he is late always can handle the miles, so he was on a load from hayward ca to omaha ne a load that i have done many times. You usually load out mon and drop wed. its like 1620 miles or so. Tried to explain to me its not enough time with all the fuel stops and everything he cant make it. I told him better look into another field if you can do a 1600 mile load in 3 days your a ####### when there is clear weather. I told him he waisted a half hour complaining to me you could of been driving so stop ######## and get going. He wasnt to happy with me
Arkansas Frost, johnyquest and Lady K Thank this. -
Maybe it's the wake up call he needed. To many new guys think they can putt around the country and make big checks. If you wanna earn it you gotta put in the work.

So I had a preset running from bethlehem pa to aurora il, d/h both ends, 14k lbs. This picks up tomorrow right after my 99 (a drop). Today I get it resent as a drop in orient oh and naturally ask why. Turns out they are overbooked out of groveport.
That's all fine and well, but I never got a pset out of groveport, so now i'm dropping my load 300 miles early with no load to grab, and I have to sit in columbus? No bueno. Not to mention most loads out of groveport are direct to grocery DC's, and we all know that sucks.
Ok, complaining over. My qc isn't broken, and I picked up a nail in a drive, but was able to get it patched at my stop for the night (sure beats a nail in a steer) so I have no right to be complaining.Arkansas Frost Thanks this. -

Since I'm sure you're all wondering, lol, WalMart was slow but manipulating my 14 worked out. I was still able to grab 100 miles after my 99 and I even spent the night in the town I grew up in. Clock manipulation is something people don't touch on much, but always having hours seems to work much better for me than running my clock out. Plus, I'm better rested and almost always available to run an extra 600 miles t the end of the week if someone needs it. I'm on point to hit CA by Wednesday night. This week will hopefully out a huge dent in my negative balance. Oh yeah, hit myself in the face with the landing gear handle finally! Everybody was right... IT HURTS!!! So try to avoid that if you can. Be safe y'all.

High dollar home cooking out the back of a pickup truck, wooh!!
