To those of you who think " swing is king" might want to listen a little better to 90% of the radios out there that are over modulated splatter boxes.. if you want a good audio output keep ur deadkey about 25 to 30% of your total output and you will have a much cleaner signal and much better sounding audio. The "swing is king" mentality comes from all of the golden screw drivers out there who think they know what their doing when they dont

i can tell you, all mine that i have had a 2 or 4 watt deadkey with a 50 watt swing looks lovely and with even hi/lo waves, not all over the place on an oscilliscope(sp) and analyzer. and they dont splatter and sound like a turd, but I have a technician/doctor with a degree in electronics that works on mine, he also has 30+ years experience, so a 2:50 can be done cleanly and not splattered. just my .02

How do you tune your antennas?

See my response to your post.

I take radio compliments with a grain of salt. I've heard truck drivers give compliments on radios that have a crunchy over-modulating sound that can be heard on 5 channels both ways, with enough echo to step on their own transmission. Just saying.

And I agree with kd8hqy, follow the 1 to 4 rule for good results...meaning for every 1 watt carrier you have 4 watts modulation. Swing isn't always the thing.

,, I already told you how I was going to have the antenna tuned

And just because it's not done exactly the way that you would have done it does not mean that it is done incorrectly the man did a good job with my radio and I'll stand by that good day to you
