I recently graduated from a truck driving school. A recruiter from Service Transport came to the school to talk to us. They are owned by Bud Adams who used to own the Houston Oilers years ago. They haul virgin chemicals though out US and Canada. The recruiter drove a tractor to the school and after he spoke to us he invited us out to look inside the truck. Navistar automatics - strange not seeing a clutch pedal, ha.
I did a search for "Service Transport" on this site and nothing came up. If anyone has heard anything about them, please let me know.
Info on Service Transport (tanker company) in Houston Texas?

My father in law worked there he didn't make any money they pay a % of the load and your only loaded one way they run EOBRs in there trucks they put him in a Mack the first of this year with a 12speed auto, from Baytown-Dallas he couldn't make that run there and back before he had to shut down and only made $125 off that run
But your first job will always be the hardest to get so if you take it atleast stay for a year or two than you can move anywhere good luck to you....ATX Thanks this. -
Same opinion here , I used them for recent liquid exp. back in the 80's,( did 6 mos ) I had to have "recent" for my spot at pvt. fleet. Good starter co. but so is Groendyke , Trimac and Schneider if you're looking to make a career in tanks.
My pay was disgusting as well as my shift BUT I had babies at home and couldn't leave mama very long. I did gas for them, straight nights, split days off on a slip seat and hit 70 all the time. My reward was about $650 take home every two weeks.......and no, I didn't miss a number, that was the pay. The best gas load paid $35 and took close to 4 hrs rack to rack. Others paid as little as $21.
Just like most anywhere else you can make a career there if that's you thing. If you can afford it and you can do at least 6 mos clean then they could be for you. Remember, they use DAC also.
JMOATX Thanks this. -

There doesn't SEEM to be a trucking job that pays good...
At least not one people are willing to talk about... -
Funny.... no Dave, there is. But it's not in Shepherd or in the woods for that matter. Seriously tho, you'll need more time, and good time with a co., not on a chip wagon or something unless you can bust in the union down here in Houston with like Big R or ABF.
GST is down south on the Hardy Toll Road but again, you need some serious time before they will look at you. Wally World is over in Sealy and in LA. over the line, but again, need time in.
Cooper pays fairly well , on the north side of Houston and have line runs right through your place....have you looked at them? So does Fedex red and Central.
Hey, off subject: What happened to the truck stop to your south? And is Franks Fly Salvage still open or did the hwy get him?

Thanks for the reply. I'll take whatever I can get right now because I'm a rookie fresh out of school, hopefully in a few years I'll be able to pick and choose and make better money.
