Seems there are several Praxair barns that are in contract negotiations right now and Praxair wants to get them all settled ASAP. We just passed ours in Inver Grove yesterday. I think we did well. Good luck with yours hollywood49.
Any union Praxair drivers out there?

praxair is not linde.before the deal in india back in I think 89, union carbide industrial gas(Linde) was sold off in the US and praxair was formed . when Linde came back to the states they wanted their previous business back (prax) but they had turned it into a very profitable deal and had no intensions of selling so Linde bought out AGA then bought Holox which turned into a very good company but then Linde bought BOC and much of the Legacy Linde had to be divested because of legal monopolies only 2 of the legacy Linde locations were kept (washington and ashdown) all other asu assets were sold to Airgas which formed Airgas Merchant Gas ...so Linde is not Praxair

I dont know what Airgas cylinder plants are union but canton is the only ASU with union drivers they are not teamsters I think they are steelworkers

all contracts are different our (Linde) contract is comparable to Praxairs contract here locally they make more on the hour than we do but we make more on the mile than they do we have more smaller perks but they have better retirement..just 1 pie its just cut different...our contract is alot different than other contrcats at Linde in different locations..

I think those driver cams will be coming for us too eventually. Right now we are transitioning from Qualcomm to Peoplenet OBC's and it is a clusterf###. We have had them in the truck for almost a year now and they still can't figure out all the bugs and get them working properly. These new OBC's are the ultimate big brother too I guess. Not only will they tattle on you when you go over the 3 mph over the speed limit, they will tell them when you perform a 'bad shift' outside of the 'economical' 1100-1600 rpm. We had to watch a 2 hour training video on how to be a fuel efficient driver. Oh well, sounds like the industry is headed that way as a whole. I'll do it their way because it still is a really good job and they pay me very well to do it "the Praxair way". Glad things are going well for you. Take care!

we have peoplenet..seems way better than xata but not as good as the old qualcomms...I dont like where we( industry) is headed but like you say gotta do it their way they are paying a premium price for it...
