Where are you at, Yonkers or Worcester ?

Hey,I'm running out of the newark terminal.
They don't have any bulk guys so they have me doing both.
Just started pulling starch out of morrisville, some guy they had quit,he was dedicated to Just Born in bethlehem.
I've been running my ##### off this week, went to North Carolina on monday/tuesday then came back for some local gigs..made over guarantee so I'm falling into place nicely.
How about you, where do you run out of and to? -
Albany, NY out of Horizon Milling. I run a sleeper ( the October 2013 calendar truck - 206058 ) and I kind of stretch out and pinch hit in Winchester, VA or Ayer, MA. I'll go out West in the system once in a while, but my truck needs a few things tended to before I take my next jaunt. I'm kind of sticking close to home for the next month or so anyway.
I qualify for my tandem permit in May, so I'm going to lock in on that as well and start running doubles. I do just as well with the sleeper, pay wise, but I have to get my game on because I think I'm going to start doing some training next year when one of the other guys step down. -
I worked for Foodliner sometime around 1990. I was hired on as an owner/operator driver. I worked from the Schullsburg Wisc Terminal, don't know if it's still there or not. Dry Tank Pneumatic. One thing I can say is I was treated excellent. I ran all the loads I wanted to, and more than I could Log, but that was my choice, occasionally being asked to do in a needy case to get a load somewhere. The Company and the equipment is no better than the drivers. My dispatcher (TOM) was the best I had ever had. I kept the equipment up if there was anything the trailer needed I could do, and they paid me for it. My truck, including the owners was the only truck he owned making money, yes, a lot of time that's the driver, not the owner, not the company, but I ran a lot of short, good paying loads and made my % better and kept the Truck revenue up. Finally he saw it and admitted it, then wanted more of my money and we parted ways. But FOODLINER at that time was to me the best I had ever been treated, to the extent of Loading my truck and deadheading theirs for hundreds of miles to load. I at one time just before I left, had a run from Chicago to Louisiana, Louisiana to Mass, Mass to Waukegan Ill.....can't beat that. Paid to wash the tank out when I was where I could. And they had one hell of an office girl, it was great to be broke down in Schullsburg for me. All things change, look at the Industry....and everyone has to make money, thanks Foodliner/Tom

I keep tossing around a lease purchase with my older unit. I think I could work off of a couple of dispatch boards and keep my deadheading to a minimum. However, I'm a doubles guy and I do a lot of equipment cleanup, and I don't want to lose my versatility with the company. The only reason I would lease purchase is to have a little more freedom with the equipment.
They keep my truck up because I keep my truck up. Typically, the worst looking tractors in the fleet belong to the biggest whiners. You can't have the energy for both. -
Yeah that's the truth about "worse looking trucks".
I started in a 2006..good truck..I wish I could've stayed in it.
It was more comfortable then the 2012 I'm in now..the Cascadia is quiet but the seat sux.
I broke down up Albany way and had to drive a tractor that was in the yard..dirty and nasty..worst truck I had ever been in..refused to sleep in and they put me in a motel.
Lucky I only had to run up to St. Albans and my truck was fixed next day.
I've seen your truck around..nice and clean unit, keep up the good work! -
Hey smooth we run up to ayer sometimes I'll keep an eye out for you...
-
How are things going in Newark lately. Is there a lot of work. Can I make money. Thanks in advance
-
I closed the year out better than 70K, but I hustled.
Newark is typically busy, mostly liquid. Doug is a good guy to work for. Good luck.
