    Hello truckerim2055

I have been following your thread.

I understand what you are going through with the miles and pay week issue. I am a l/p for another company and had the same issues. The way i get around it is to work what I call 2 weeks out. It takes a little sacrifice to get there but it is well worth it as you have a lot more control over your miles than dispatch does. The way it works is to hold the loads for a week. Sounds easy but it is hard to set up. I started by holding 1 load the 1st week then 2 then 3 then I just rolled the whole week over. Once on it though nothing other than taking more than a week off at a time will effect you pay check. Not even holidays bothered me even when payroll moved the due date to have payroll in since mine was turned in the Friday before. If you want to discuss it more I will be following your thread and can answer any questions. One word of caution though companies don't like it not even mine but I look at it this way I am in business to succeed if they do not want me to do it guarantee me 2500 miles a week pay and I won't. I just don't tell them I am doing it. By running this way I can cut my week when I hit the miles I want as it gives me the extra days if I need them.

Good luck and stay warm in the snow I am in Moline, Il now watching roll in so I can drive to Omaha tomorrow in it.

You aren't the only one. Hubby had an early morning delivery, and then went to the shop for some work on his truck, too. But that snow storm is no joke.

I decided to go home for the weekend so they gave me a kc to lawton load that del on monday. I get over to the shipper with 2 other act drivers and find out they canceled all 7 loads they had planned for today but didnot tell act. Customer service confermed it then gave me an atchison ks to arlington tx for monday. Should be home tonite.

I do the samething i just change the payroll date on my trips and scan as usual and hope they hold it back in payroll so far they have. That way they get there load scanned and i get my trip held back. When freight is slow it helps from going in the Hole its an insurance policy kinda. And like you said if you decide you wanna take extra time at the house your still good for a payment.

I've been lucky, I suppose. Nine months at ACT and I have not put placards on one load yet. I've hauled two battery loads where placards weren't required because of the exemption. Now that I said this, I'll get three of them next week...

I made it to wickes ar b4 my drive tire blew. Then notice the other tire has a little bubble in the sidewall. They are going to replace the blown tire with a trailer tire til i get back to the yard.

I had tire issues in fl as well. Sat all weekend. No super single tires around jacksonville other than virgin new and i don't have that much maint. money yet. So i get loaded back to kc hoping the damaged tire makes it. Get to graniteville sc and get loaded then the dash lights go out and the check engine light comes on with an egr delta pressure fault showing. When it rains it pours. At least it's not snow. Snow and getting stuck is what damaged the tire to begin with from spinning.
