Drivers, I am sick and tired of worrying about nyc low clearances. No clearance sign is accurate, and the " add a foot" rule is only right half of the time, so what do you do? Stand with me and fight to get things done. In overdrive magazine, Senator Schumer complained about drivers with GPS, putting the blame on us, but in reality, NYC is the blame, not 1 sign is accurate, so why should we be fined?
Write Schumer a letter, here is the webpage to send an email online. If your tired of it, like me, then let's start taking action

Who is tired of nyc ??? Here is a solution

Email Schumer

If no one but me emails him, nothing will ever get done!!! Don't just complain about it, let's email him like crazy. -
From someone who lives in NJ, that website is wrong. that dot map is wrong. The clearance heights are off by 1-3 feet, the map says u can go to city island, but u can't, it says u can use the Brooklyn bridge but u can't,

I have a lot of drivers arguing that the nyc dot map is accurate and to just follow than when running NYC. But every driver that argues that point don't live near nyc. PLEASE TAKE IT FROM A NJ RESIDENT WHO VISITS HIS FAMILY IN NYC. THAT MAP IS WRONG!!! There are many routes it says are available to truckers, example: city island however city island has a 10 ft steel beam to keep trucks out, yet map says its ok. Another example: the tunnels, yet they are 10-11 ft clearance, Brooklyn bridge, but that's closed to trucks..
PLEASE EMAIL SENATOR SHUMER TO MAKE CHANGES.
CHANGE THE #### SIGNS SO THEY HAVE THE RIGHT CLEARANCE AND ATLEAST MAKE THE MAP ACCURATE IF YOUR GONNA HAND IT OUT. HERE IS HIS EMAIL WEBSITE

He says he wants to fine you for using a truck GPS. I asked him in email to change the signs. Let's see if he is serious about making changes or is he using that as an excuse to fine drivers to squeeze a penny out of their pockets..mjfmjf Thanks this. -
Here is a link to all 5 boroughs for truck routes and clearance issues.

No that's not reliable. I go to nyc to visit wife family, so I'm familiar with it. And let me tell you, that map is BullS#&# it says you can go to city island, use Brooklyn bridge or the tunnels. All errors. If you went to city island, you would be confronted with a thick 10 ft tall beam to keep 18 wheelers out. That map has A LOT of errors.
