As an enrolled Agent to practice before the IRS, I am well aware of the deductions I can legally take.
However, the IRS agent did not agree with the listings like you suggest here. Just because it was bought for the truck, did not mean she would allow them. She felt cleaning supplies were personal. Especially anything that would freshen the air.
No, XM, radio if dies, is personal to replace.
Gloves, and clothing used to work on the vehicle were not allowed as well. She classed these as personal expenses. She would only allow steel toed boots.
So, there is much to consider during the appeal.

Anything you buy that you use job related is tax deductible. however strange your baby wipes question may sound if you really need it and get questions about it from the tax guys just explain them why you use them and it should not be a problem.

It's a hygiene product, just like soap, shampoo, toothpaste, etc. $200 a week would seem a bit much, but hey, everyone has impulses.
-
Maybe you two should go on my appeal.
-
Have you been audited ? Audits are increasing .
-
I have always deducted baby wipes.....cleaning supplies for truck.
-
So have I. The audits disallowed them.
-
-
Maybe try filing them under 'entertainment' instead?
Sly Fox Thanks this. -
