I'm 22, and I have 4 months previous exp. Team driving with Schneider, making 0.31cpm, and averaging 600 miles a day.
Had a kid, so I wanted to be home until I felt necessary..
I feel like I want to branch out and try a new a new company and just got my orientation with Roehl confirmed, and they're talking about starting me out at 34 cpm. SOLO. To me this sounds way too good for only having 4 months exp.
Any opinions or new Roehl drivers that can shed some light for me?
Roehl..to good to be true?

Roehl is suppose to be a good place.

Seems to be. My partner when I was with Schneider was making 34 cpm, but he told me it took him 2 years to get there from 31cpm.
I just thought making that much as low experienced solo driver was crazy -
Did they say what you were doing? When I was there the flatbed drivers started at .34cpm.

Just regular national van fleet, but my recruiter said something along the lines of " your 4 months of experience will put you in the 0.34cpm bracket, then 0.36 after 90 days. Which is around 8 cents more than starting Schneider solo drivers.

Howard Transportation in Ellisville, MS is also good for drivers living in MS.
Roehl, from the information I've been able to get, is a very good company, so, Best wishes to you.
It's not that Roehl is too good to be true, it's that new drivers just don't have the experience yet to know there are so many opportunities with established carriers available, they don't have to settle for the so-called starter companies. They limit themselves to what the driving schools present, just not being aware there are 1000 other companies that will hire them. You're doing OK with Roehl. -
Chinatown Thanks this.

Which trucking company is hauling for that grocery warehouse in Brookhaven now? Years ago I hauled milk into that place every now and then. -
Welcome to Roehl. Check out the Roehl page on this website. Since you have been with Schneider you should be ok with Roehl.
