I have to wear steel toe and the company pays for them.Usually Redwing or Dunham. After awhile the steel starts to poke out of the toes,so I guess I need them.I wear them 12 hours ,and I hardly notice them any more.

+10 on redwings. Have worn hem since day one in the oilpatch. They are expensive to buy up from but they will last years. I've worn every pair of mine for at least three years, one pair almost five. Best boots out there IMO.

i had a couple of pair of Doc Martins they are very comfortable but didn't last as long as the Redwings. Still a great boot. I wear them just messing around but not at work. Oil base mud seems to eat them up.

Irish Setters which are part of Red Wing are the only ones I buy. I don't drive with them though, put them on if needed when I get out. With a size 15 foot, boots make them about twice as bulky and it gets hard to maneuver your feet in a confined space such as near the pedals.

I got lucky enough to take a LTL from a wrecked truck to the Red Wing factory. They noticed I was wearing their boots. Wife & I were given a pair of brand new ones. Not a bribe, just thanks. Pays to be a Trucker sometimes.

Good to hear that they are good people I been wearing and recommending RWs for a while now. I did what everyone else did when a friend if mine was raving about them 15 years ago. I ignored him. But I tried them not to long ago and I won't buy another boot. A good American company that gets it right. I know not all their boots are made in the USA but just ask them they'll tell you at the store which ones are.

I wear a pair of aluminum toe Irish Setters. Best hard-toed boots I've ever worn.

I like Ariat steel toes they are extremely comfortable and last me at least 3 yrs and with what I do that's good. I haul transport hazardous waste and we are in and out of the waste landfills and disposals sometimes everyday.
