40 dollars a day??? something doesnt seem right about this... ive heard of companies making you team until a truck is available, pam did that with some drivers when i first started driving, but never have i heard of having to still make trainie pay when you completed training. not that im calling anyone a liar, but i do know some people out here in this industry to stretch stories, but hopefully they dont screw you over man, and if this is true, run, run, and i mean run as fast as you can b/c this is just the start...
-
I was in TX for training and after I went out with my coach they sent me back to TX
-
If this is the way they are treating you now do you really I think it is going to be better later on? $40 a day not even minimum wage! Run now go!!!!!!!
-
They don't need teams so I guess they just want more training noobs.
-
Yea I don't understand the concept of bringing you in then not having a job.
-
-
the concept is "all they want you to do is lease"
-
well i will say $40/day aint right
but 10 days of driving isnt enough
to have a clue either
when i was in training it was 3 weeks and that isnt enough either
personally i would go back out on a truck get your feet a little more wet
and see what happenskerosene jockey Thanks this. -
If the individual spends more than 6 hours a day working, driving, lumping, fueling or whatever, he's not even making federal minimum wage. but if he's paid $40 day to sleep, I guess that's not too bad. But yes, it is an insult to the industry and the trade and I'd much rather sit at at home making nothing then being cooped up with a probable moron that may well be less qualified to drive then the new guy waiting on a truck.
yes, they probably use this tactic to get some who met certain criteria and perhaps displayed some sort of aptitude in orientation that would make them seem like potential lease material, to move into a lease agreement just to avoid the bull crap.
