The good: Nice people. They pay your megar earnings. They have BC-BS health insurance.
    The other:
1.They are NOT an OTR company. You will be run 98 percent regionally. Depending on your DM will determine your region. 1200 miles is a LONG trip. Rare.
2.They have some real rags for power units.
3.Maintenance sucks badly. It seems as though you have to personally bring it to their attention for them to work on it. Leaving notes and reports is a waste of time. In other words you will have to WAIT on it. This is NOT considered breakdown. I was in Somerset terminal. I talked to one driver who told me they wanted him to rest in someone elses truck whils repairs were being made. To cheap to send him to motel.
    4. They do not give you a fresh matress.
    5. They refuse to install APUs. Yet you are constantly badgered about idle time.
    6. Most of delivery times are unreasonably tight. You can forget about eating during your tour of duty. You barely have time to take bathroom breaks. They run a great deal of UPS freight. Terminal to terminal. They want you to run it in the same time as UPS line haul drivers do. Ups has faster, lighter and more powerfull units. And they do not have to stop for fuel. Their drivers come fresh out of bed with a full thermos and know their routes. The instructions are 'run straight thru'. You are required to sign a statement for minimal time for that run. This of course is a contradiction of every commercial driver fatigue study over the last 70 years.
    7. Practical mile pay. Was told it 'averages out'. It NEVER will average out. You will LOOSE an average of $110.00 a week. The way the compute it. The lowerst I experienced was 2 miles less. Up to 70 miles on a 1200 mile trip.
    8. Old raggy trailers. 99% of the landing gears are trash. You must be carefull not to strain something cranking them up AND down.

Is this a bad company? Is it no worse than the others. You decide.:biggrin_25511:

Nobody can ever win. They complain about to much spare time to deliver loads, then complain if you have to close of a appt.

Dude that's same with ups, FedEx, Conway, central, RL carriers, A Duie Pyle, etc... I've hauled them all and its all just In time freight. Those ppl don't want anyone BSing with those loads.

Next time your waiting on a home parcel delivery and its late or doesn't show, go find the truck driver and yell at him for procrastinating at truckstops

    catrucker916 and tracyq144 Thank this.

Are you sure this isnt Schneider National? Sounds fishy to me..These are all the signs of Punkin drivin as I remember

The whole "It all averages out" chapped my boney azzzzz more than anything.Ive heard that one before.
    Nasty mattress ?Check.
    Don't idle,no Apu? Check
You forgot overspeed in a truck that won't approach most speed limits,so you never get a bonus.

Try Knight, the "hated bottom feeder company".

Points 1, 5 (except no badgering about idle time), and 7 (very few OTR companies pay hub miles) are the same, all other points do NOT apply.

4 + years with Knight, just saying. Terminals all over the states, including Atlanta. You could do worse (and apparently are right now).

I thought it was obvious; but apparently not. As very few SS drivers post any info; I just gave a little FYI for those interested as many job hop expecting something different or better.

I read on another post that federal regulations require the company provide a new mattress if requested. Is this not the case?
