Thats now how it works. They got rid of the multiple tickets on plug and perf wells. But they also added another bonus for jobs over 240k to 400k. So if there is night shifts, all tickets added and split in half. meaning day shift won't make more than night shift and vice versa. It's split in half but its paid as one ticket. Was done to make it fair for all.
For example we rigged in and pressure tested, and fracked 2 zones. Night shift fracked 10 zones. We came back the next day and fracked 2 more then rigged out and left. The old system night shift would have walked away with all the money while we did all the hard work and made very little.
Overtime after 10 hours stays the same. -
Back when I was at the great Satan aka calfrac you got your job bonus at scale as soon as you got on lease. Didn't matter how long or short you were there.

Still the same today. Trican just changed the plug and perf well jobs.

Post 1 of 7:
Hello everyone. This is my first post on this forum after having spent a couple of weeks reading most of the over 200 pages spanning back a couple of years about all topics oilfield it seems. I feel like many of my questions have been answered, but still wanted to post for a more interactive experience with those who may help me return to Alberta for a well paying, perked-up kind of job. -
Post 2 of 7:
I used to drive dry van to the US from Ontario, but became fed up with border crossings. I worked for Weatherford in Edmonton as a Compact Memory Logging Operator, for a year and made good money, but wasn't able to enjoy it because I wasn't very financially stable (lotsa mistakes racking up debt). I returned to Ontario, declared bankruptcy, and have since been in recovery mode. -

I feel that being in a much better position financially will allow me to enjoy the great rewards that an oilfield job accompanies. It would also allow me to go through future break-ups without worrying that I'd run out of living expenses. -
Post 4 of 7:
I hold an AZ license, which of course is a Class 1 in Alberta, but would have to get my oilfield related tickets again since the ones I had with Weatherford have expired. I think I would wait for me to get them through an employer when I am hired. -
Post 5 of 7:
First, the industry is going through the break up period right now. Second, I have given my current employer in Ontario a couple of months worth of notice that I would be moving to Alberta. He appreciates the lead time considering the complexity of my job and his need for me to train my replacement. I don't like to burn bridges. -
Post 6 of 7:
So I'll be landing somewhere in Alberta at the beginning of June, and hopefully have a few interviews lined up by then. I don't have a car right now (taking transit), but my abstract is relatively clean (1 speeding in the last 3 years I think). So I'd have to try and secure a cheap car when I get there (insurance in Ontario is prohibitively expensive for me at the moment).
