I would cross Coca Cola off the list; reason, extremely hard on the back.
Every other company you list is good. Have friends working for Saia & Estes & they make good money and very happy there. I once worked for YRC Logistics(non-union division) and it was very good with good money. YRC sold the logistics and Greatwide took over and it was good; home either every night or 2 or 3 nights a week. Greatwide may have something going on in Dallas area; the food delivery part would probably pay the best.
Smart move on your part doing lots of research early on.Arkansas Frost and Marshall989 Thank this. -
i would look into jm swank a division of conagra foods. i know food is a bad word in trucking but they dont do grocery warehouses, haul there own products only, local and otr jobs. new trucks, pay good, ins. ect ect. in dallas take I-20 to duncanville rd exit 462 north 1 mile on rite nice place to work
mje and Marshall989 Thank this. -
thanks guys for that details. i will go by in check them out jbourque. hey chinatown thanks for the info, will check in with greatwide also..

Have any gas hauling openings in town? If so, I highly recommend applying...

Coca Cola will work you to death! I had the displeasure of working there one summer. The food delivery guys will work you pretty hard too. Sysco, MBM, etc. Lots of unloading using a 2 wheeler and ramp. Sometimes they use lift gates. Good money but hard back breaking work. YRC (includes Yellow, Roadway, Holland, New Penn, Reddaway), Estes, Saia, UPS Freight, Frito Lay, ODFL, ABF are all good. Heard South Eastern is good too. FedEx Freight and especially Conway ltl will have you on the dock. Heard bad things about Central Transport. Good luck.

Does anybody know anything about Martin Brauer?

I will help the best I ca
sais I know nothing about but haven't heard anything bad
ABF if they hire you stick with them, turnover rate is slim to none
ODFL is good, haven't heard any negative about them.
of you want to work your @&$ off then go into coke or food delivery but I would stay away from then, unless you got a line-haul position
Central transport stay FAR FAR FAR away from.
estes I don't know much about but they seem to be decent.
Con-way and FedEx unless you don't mind doing dock work more then driving I would stay away from as well. I worked for con-way and was an awful experience.
i currently work for YRC as a line driver, started out doing p/d and now I'm on LINEHAUL as I transferred to another terminal. Yea out equipment isn't the greatest but the pay is good and the management at my new terminal doesn't suck like my old one does
RoadwY is owned by YRC and no longer exists.
UPS good luck getting hired as a line driver. They want you to build seniority before you get into one. UPSF however will hire you off the street. -
As a line haul driver at OD for the last 6 years, I would recommend ODFL. We have a super nice terminal in Dallas off Duncanville road. The extra board is rough because of the odd work times, but once you get a bid run (2-3 years), it's one of the best driving jobs out there. You make good money until then, and the equipment and people/support are exceptional.
Arkansas Frost Thanks this. -
thanks for the info
